The IOOF Seniors Homes received a transformational $100,000 contribution from private donor – Mr. William Foskett – to go towards purchasing a replacement transport vehicle for the IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. residents.

The IOOF’s current transport bus is aging and not sufficient to support the growing needs of the community. Residents enjoy taking daily and weekly excursions to local stores, grocery shopping, and recreational outings that provide independence and enrichment to those who no longer have the means to drive themselves.

This significant gift by Mr. Foskett, who is a resident of the IOOF Seniors Homes, will leave a legacy for fellow residents and generations to come.

When speaking about his announced gift and reflecting on the importance of having access to transportation for around town and trips to activities, Mr. Foskett remarked that “he was inspired and enjoyed seeing fellow residents get on the current bus looking happy and returning looking happier.”

“We are deeply grateful for Bill’s generosity in making a meaningful gift that will help us achieve a long‑term goal of replacing our aging transport bus with a newer, fully accessible model that can accommodate more residents and  additional wheelchairs. His heartfelt contribution ensures that the purchase of a new bus will soon become a reality  for our residents,” said Garry Hopkins, CEO, IOOF Seniors Homes.

The IOOF Seniors Homes is raising funds to purchase a new bus for residents, and if you would like to donate, please reach out to Elyse at 705-725-4610/emartin@ioof.com or visit IOOF.com.
