(Barrie, ON – May 1, 2026) Purchase 50/50 raffle tickets to help the IOOF Seniors Homes to build the future of long-term care for seniors in our community. Launching on May 1st to May 31st raffle tickets will be available for purchase at IOOF.com with proceeds benefitting the redevelopment of the IOOF’s long-term care home.

Construction is now underway on the expansion of the long-term care home which will create 64 new and 66 upgraded long-term care beds bringing the home to a 226-bed facility. The redevelopment includes a renovation and new addition to the existing building that will modernize the home for today’s seniors and generations to come. Completed in two phases and is expected to welcome new residents for phase one in spring 2028 and phase two in early 2029. The expanded home will create a more intimate and familiar living space for residents and their families with their own dining and activity areas, lounges and private bedrooms.

The IOOF is a not-for-profit facility, and like Canadian hospitals is required to fundraise for community dollars. “As our community continues to transition to an aging population, seniors and their families are increasingly accessing vital health services and the IOOF’s long-term care expansion is responding to the growing need. We hope that you will help to support our expansion by purchasing raffle tickets with proceeds going directly to our redevelopment campaign to build the future of senior care in Ontario,” said Garry Hopkins, CEO, IOOF Seniors Homes.

The 50/50 raffle begins on Friday, May 1st to Sunday, May 31st, 2026, tickets will be available for purchase at IOOF.com for 10 tickets for $10; 40 tickets for $20; 150 tickets for $50; 400 tickets for $100. The grand prize draw will be held on Monday, June 1st, 2026.
