Ontario’s aging population.
Make a special gift this holiday season to help build the future of senior care. Howard and his daughter Sheila are multi generational long-term care residents that call the IOOF home. Despite their complex health needs the IOOF was able to keep them together on the same floor, where they share meals, participate in recreational programs, and enjoy family time. Howard, a former competitive gymnast and marathon runner, was always cheered on by his daughter, Sheila.
Growing up, she loved watching him race and spending time together at the beach. Today, she is deeply grateful that they can continue sharing these moments as they both navigate their health challenges. Howard and Sheila express love for each other and how important it has been for them to remain together, making the transition to long-term care that much easier. Keeping families together is important, and while it doesn’t happen too often, the IOOF’s care team has provided support to spouses, siblings, and parents with their adult children. Ensuring that families stay together is paramount to the IOOF’s Residents First philosophy. Support the IOOF Seniors Homes this holiday season by purchasing raffle tickets, bidding in the Merry Magical Holiday Auction or making a meaningful gift to the redevelopment campaign and help meet the growing needs of our community and residents like Howard and Sheila for future generations to come.
