Garry C. Hopkins

Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer of IOOF Seniors Homes, Garry brings a wealth of leadership experience rooted in operational excellence and values-driven service. Since joining as CEO in March 2016, he has been dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and care for residents.

Garry holds a Master of Health Science in Health Administration from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg. He is also a graduate of The Salvation Army College for Officer Training in St. John’s, NL.

Garry’s career in seniors care is extensive. Prior to his role at IOOF, he spent 14 years as an Executive Director, leading four different nursing homes across the Greater Toronto Area. This hands-on experience has given him a deep understanding of the complexities and rewards of long-term care leadership.

Garry’s professional journey began with a distinguished 26-year career with the Salvation Army, where his roles spanned Pastoral Ministry, Health Services, and academic administration serving in two capacities - Director of Personnel (Dean of Students) and then Assistant Principal of their College for Officer Training in Suffern, NY.

In addition to family, which is a priority, Garry is a sports enthusiast; fly fishing aficionado; and has a genuine passion for reading.
