Jane Walker

Assistant Director of Resident Care

Jane is a dedicated healthcare professional with over 22 years of nursing experience across a wide range of clinical settings. She joined the IOOF Seniors Homes team three years ago, initially serving as a Charge Nurse before advancing into her current role as one of the Assistant Directors of Care.

Jane’s educational journey began in the late 1990s with a Developmental Services Worker Diploma. She later completed her Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Diploma and earned her Registered Nurse (RN) designation, solidifying her solid foundation in both practical and professional nursing practice.

Throughout her career, Jane has actively contributed to healthcare governance and community well-being. She has served on several prominent boards, including the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Family Health Team Board, and the Physicians Board in Barrie—where she held the sole Registered Nurse seat. She currently contributes her expertise as a Board Member for the Seniors Wish Association and CARP Barrie.

Jane’s passion for service extends beyond Canada. She has participated in two medical missions to Haiti helping to provide free medical care and surgical support to hundreds of individuals in need—often assessing 500–600 patients in a single week. Closer to home, she volunteers annually as a camp nurse at a Christian children’s camp in Goderich, Ontario.

Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Jane is a devoted mother to two active and athletic boys who keep her happily busy with their various sports and activities.
