Gaja Damas

Director of Quality, Risk, & Programs

Gaja, a graduate of McMaster University, has dedicated 30 years to the seniors care industry, including over two decades at IOOF Seniors Homes. Throughout her career, she has held various management roles including Program Support Services, Resident/Family Services, Volunteer Management, and Housing Accommodations. As a certified trainer in multiple industry-related courses, she is deeply committed to holistic, person-centered seniors care, delivering quality services, collaborating with exceptional teams, and embracing change.

In her current role as Director of Quality, Risk & Programs, Gaja oversees the Program Support and Volunteer Services Department working closely with the Manager of Program Support & Volunteer Services and other contracted services to provide spiritual and religious care as well as rehabilitation.

Her responsibilities also include managing the continuous quality improvement program and risk management activities, such as occupational health and safety, emergency planning, and preparedness exercises.

Outside of her professional life, Gaja is an enthusiastic optimist and nature lover. She finds joy in kayaking, skiing, hiking, and walking with her dog, meditation and prayer, and dancing as if no one is watching.
